Gautam Gambhir was all praise for the Indian star batter, Virat Kohli praising his knock 183 against Pakistan and believes it to be better than Rohit Sharma's double century.

Former Indian opener and World Cup winner, Gautam Gambhir was all praise for Virat Kohli as he hailed his knock against Pakistan where Kohli scored 183 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, 2012.

Gambhir said that he believes Kohli’s knock eclipses the likes of the multiple double centuries scored by Rohit Sharma in ODI’s. His reason was that Kohli’s knock came under pressure of the rivalry, chasing a high total of over 300 runs to chase. The quick loss of Gambhir’s wicket also put more pressure on the Indian side.

Gambhir believes that while Rohit’s innings have more runs individually, he said that the magnitude of Kohli’s innings also needs to be taken into account and is much bigger than Rohit’s knocks.

A young Virat Kohli established his place in the Indian team with knocks like this and built his reputation around being a chase-master. His aggression on the field was unique.

Currently, Kohli is batting with KL Rahul against Pakistan and the duo will look to continue the momentum that the opening batting duo of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill managed to bring in with their aggressive batting, something that was missing in their previous encounter against Pakistan which led to Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf clearing through the Indian top-order.

Now Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill both managed to score half-centuries as they gave the Indian team great starts and look to score a total above 300 to set a target for Babar Azam’s men to chase.

Babar Azam will look to utilize the break and re-evaluate their plans as the bowling attack was not up to their standards as compared to the previous match against India. The Pakistan side will be looking to bounce back today or tomorrow being the reserve day as they will look to make a fresh start and bounce back in the game.

Fans, however, are disappointed after the game was interrupted yet again due to rains and will hope that in the worst-case scenario, the game will only go into the reserve day and will not be washed out.
