New Delhi has come alive as world leaders gather for the prestigious G20 Summit this weekend. The city is decorated with fascinating visuals and social media has been buzzing with glimpses of the grandeur. One remarkable video making waves online features a man proudly displaying the G20 flag while skydiving at a lofty altitude. The video has caught the attention of Union Minister of Earth Sciences, Kiren Rijiju. Posting the video on X, formerly known as Twitter, the minister wrote, “I like this very much.”

In a similar incident from March this year, an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer was seen waving the G20 flag in the sky. Wing Commander Gajanand Yadava skydived from an altitude of 10,000 feet displaying the G20 flag that featured the theme, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - One Earth, One Family, One Future’.

Leaders from member countries have assembled for the G20 Summit at the newly inaugurated, Bharat Mandapam, where they will engage in discussions on critical global issues. Ahead of the summit, strict traffic restrictions were implemented to control vehicle movement in the vicinity of the G20 summit venue and delegate hotels.
The Summit is set to host more than 20 heads of state, government representatives and international organizations in New Delhi at the Pragati Maidan. Among the prominent world leaders attending the Summit are US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa and Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
However, other leaders like China’s Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Spain’s President Pedro Sanchez and Mexico’s Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador will be absent from the G20 Summit.
India has also extended invitations to leaders from non-member countries as well, these nations include Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nigeria, Egypt, Mauritius, Oman, Singapore, Spain and the United Arab Emirates.
