Mammootty And His Squad On Nationwide Manhunt In The Trailer Of Kannur Squad; Watch Here

To mark Mammootty’s 72nd birthday, the makers of Kannur Squad released the trailer of the most awaited investigative thriller on Thursday, September 7. The film is directed by Varghese Raj and is produced by Mammootty himself under his banner Mammootty Kampany. It was written by Muhammad Shafi and Rony David Raj. The two-minute trailer shows Mammootty heading a special squad that goes on a nationwide quest to hunt criminals. The actor’s character leads his team in solving the cast by outsmarting the antagonists. He also goes undercover to capture the criminals and gives them a tough fight.

“The gripping saga of a police officer and his team, their challenging journey to nab a criminal gang across the country. The film shows how he leads his team towards triumph, amidst professional uncertainties in this gripping drama,” reads the logline from the Kannur Squad.

Besides Mammootty, the film also features Kishore, Rony David Raj, Shabareesh Varma, Azeez Nedumangad, Vijayaraghavan, Sarath Sabha, and Sunny Wayne. Speaking of the Kannur Squad’s crew it includes debut cinematographer Muhammed Rahil. The music is given by Sushin Shyam, and the production design of the film is done by Shaji Naduvil. Mammootty’s son and actor Dulquer Salmaan‘s production house Wayfarer Films will distribute the film in Kerala.

The official release date of Kannur Squad is yet to be revealed by the team.

Besides the trailer of Kannur Squad, the first look of Mammootty’s upcoming film Bramayugam was also released on his birthday. It is directed by Bhoothakaalam fame Rahul Sadasivan and produced by Nigh Shift Studios and YNot Studios. The poster shows the veteran actor unrecognisable as he sits barefoot and gives a wry smile towards the camera.

Apart from these films, Mammootty has a string of projects in the pipeline including Kottayam Kunjachan 2, a sequel to the 1991 comedy film, in which he reprises his role as the titular character and Yatra 2, directed by Mahi V Raghav in his kitty.
