But the demand for short videos has got YouTube staff worried about its future earnings.

Short videos limit the scope for ad placement, which means less scope for YouTube to make money.

And with millions tuning into Shorts, TikTok and Reels, the platfom wants to entice creators to make more long-form videos.

It is interesting to see YouTube worried about the changing trends, even though it has Shorts platform.

YouTube introduced its short-video app much later than TikTok and Reels but has managed to grab a big chunk of the market.

It is likely that both the video formats can co-exist rather than replace one another.
