PAK vs IND Live Score: Update From Chris Gaffaney!

We’ve got two main issues, two high-traffic areas where it’s wet and soft. The foundation of the ground is too soft and too wet and it’s dangerous to continue right now. Hopefully with another 10-15 minutes of drying, it gets good enough for play.”

India vs Pakistan Live Score: Shackles Broken; Score 146/2 in 24 overs

A much needed boundary for KL Rahul and India this one. Dot balls were piling up and Pakistan were steadily building up the pressure. A short delivery attempted by Haris Rauf which was pulled away into the gap for a four. There was an appeal for LBW against KL Rahil though which Rauf thought was out but Pakistan didn’t appeal.

Khan managed to provide a big breakthrough to Pakistan by dismissing India captain Rohit Sharma. After getting hammered for sixes, Shadab got the better of Rohit who scored 56 runs off 49 balls. India were off to a good start here as both Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma looked in great touch. Both batters are dealing in boundaries with ease as the Pakistan pacers have failed to get their line right thus far. Pakistan captain Babar Azam opted to field first against India in their second meeting of the 2023 Asia Cup 2023. Pakistan have taken the field with the same eleven from their previous fixture while India have included KL Rahul with Shreyas Iyer out due to a back spasm.

India and Pakistan, the two arch-rivals, will face each other for the second time in the ongoing continental tournament and they will be hoping to get a result this time as the first clash was abandoned due to persistent rain after the Indian innings. However, the forecast is not actually pleasant for the Sunday clash too as rain is expected to play the spoilsport once again. Meanwhile, the Asian Cricket Council has confirmed that Monday will be the reserved day for the mega India vs Pakistan clash.

The onus will be on batting maestro Virat Kohli to tackle the Pakistan pace troika Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf in the marquee clash. The Indian batters struggled miserably against the Pakistan pacers in their group-stage clash. Kohli, himself was dismissed for just 4 by Shaheen.

The Indian top-order batters have had issues with Afridi’s nip-backers and the awkward angles that he often creates and it has got everything to do with unfamiliarity even if you have watched thousands of his bowling videos.

In the previous match, India were four down for just 66 as Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan came to the team’s rescue. The duo shared a crucial 138-run stand for the fifth wicket and helped India post a fighting total.

Gill, who was dismissed for 10 in the group stage clash, said that he was also banking on the left-arm throw-down specialist Nuwan Seneviratne to dish out an improved show against Afridi, and in general against Pakistan quicks.

“Definitely (training has helped). He (Nuwan) has been travelling with us for the last 7-8 years. It is nice to have that variation. We have that right-arm specialist (Raghu), the side-arm specialist (Dayannd Garani) and the left-arm specialist. It does help in any conditions that you play,” said Gill.

Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Babar Azam shed light on the preparations and team combination and also said that all players are confident of winning the match against India.

“We aren’t frustrated about the weather because it is not in our control. The forecast said it will rain all four days, but the way the sun is shining right now suggests otherwise. We are trying to utilise all the days we get.

“We aren’t stuck on anything or confused about the combination. I am clear on it and so is the management. We know what combination to choose according to the situation. Every player is confident in their role, focused on winning and staying united as a team.”
