Joe Alwyn was on a social media hiatus for about a year. In the latest news, the actor is now officially back on Instagram and shared a carousel of images on September 5. Recently, the actor made headlines when Taylor Swift and he ended their six-year relationship in April this year. While the singer was busy with her Eras Tour, it seems the actor was on an introspective travel spree for some time.
Joe Alwyn posted a number of photos on his latest Instagram post, including images of his travels, escapades into nature, a waterfront view from a window, and a pencil sketch of a building. The sketch of a house reportedly bore a striking resemblance to the Cornelia Street apartment in New York City’s West Village, where Joe and Taylor Swift lived in the early months of their relationship.

He also shared a couple of images of himself, both current and from his childhood, showing him carrying a toy bow and arrow. A video from a Bon Iver concert was also shown, as were images of a hat and patches. Joe’s last Instagram post was in May 2022.
This isn’t the first time Joe Alwyn’s fans have seen him since the breakup news surfaced in April 2023. As per a report by ENews, in April itself, Emma Laird posted a photo of Joe while the cast of The Brutalist was filming in Hungary. Next, in May, the actor attended his first public event, a Celine dinner during the Cannes Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift, who kept their relationship hidden from the public eye, were reported to have split up “amicably." Fans were shocked to learn about their breakup since it was reported a few months ago that the couple was ‘going strong.’ Speculations of an impending wedding were also doing rounds. A source told Entertainment Tonight, “(The breakup) was not dramatic," and added, “the relationship had just run its course. It’s why [Alwyn] hasn’t been spotted at any shows."
Reportedly, Taylor Swift started dating Joe Alwyn in 2016. A source earlier told People magazine that the singer, who wrote about Joe in her song Lavender Haze, is “very happy" with the actor. Their relationship was mature back then, according to the source. Joe Alwyn had worked with Taylor on her albums over the years. He wrote many songs for the albums Folklore and Evermore under the pen name William Bowery.
