'X' Users Confused After Fake Notice Prohibiting IIT Roorkee Students From Masturbating Goes Viral

A fake notice from IIT Roorkee is doing rounds on social media and it has people confused. The notice, which first emerged in 2019, prohibits students from masturbating in the shower. It mentions that masturbation in the showers is a “violation” of Indian Institute of Roorkee Hostel code of conduct. It further mentions that the huge amount of semen in the drain costs thousands of rupees in maintenance and it will be reflected in the increased hostel prices.

With this, it asks students to ‘masturbate in their own room’. The poster went viral after it was uploaded by ‘X’ user ‘Medium Fudge’. While many people contemplated if it was real, there were people who believed it. However, a report by OpIndia claims that it is fake. The poster also carries the signature of Ashutosh Chamoli who is the chief warden of the hostel.

Rajendra Bhawan Hostel warden office has claimed that the notice is a hoax and no such thing was issued.
